Kristen Snyman, Ph.D., is an exercise physiologist at MEDgevity with over 15 years of experience helping people use movement as medicine. With a deep background in clinical exercise testing and fitness prescription, she works with members to create smart, science-backed strategies that support strength, mobility, and long-term health — all from the comfort of home through MEDgevity’s virtual platform.
Educational Background
Kristen earned her Ph.D. in Physiology and Nutrition from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, her M.S. in Exercise Physiology from California State University–Fullerton, and her B.A. in Cognitive Sciences from UC Irvine, where she graduated with honors.
Professional Experience
Throughout her career, Kristen has worked with a wide range of individuals — from high-performing athletes to busy parents and those recovering from serious health events like heart attacks or strokes. She’s led graduate programs, published dozens of research papers, and helped design advanced clinical trials focused on human performance and exercise science.
Kristen currently serves as Associate Professor and Clinical Exercise Physiology Concentration Coordinator at Point Loma Nazarene University, where she teaches advanced coursework, oversees research, and mentors students in metabolic and neuromuscular health. She has also held faculty positions at Concordia University Chicago, Fresno State University, and UC Irvine, where she taught courses in physiology, clinical exercise testing, and human performance.
In her research career, Kristen has coordinated multiple clinical trials, analyzed physiological data, and published over 35 peer-reviewed articles on human performance and exercise science. She’s an expert in assessments like cardiorespiratory stress testing (CPET with ECG), body composition analysis (including DEXA), neuromuscular function, and customized exercise prescriptions aligned with ACSM guidelines.
