Dr. Danine Frugé is an experienced physician specializing in lifestyle medicine, functional medicine, precision longevity, and performance-focused health. Rather than taking a transactional approach to primary care, Dr. Frugé offers a holistic, goal-oriented pathway to help patients better understand their health, address root causes, and work toward long-term wellness.
With more than 20 years of experience in lifestyle medicine and health education, Dr. Frugé helps patients move beyond simply treating symptoms. Her approach focuses on identifying and mitigating the underlying factors that may be impacting health, giving the body the best opportunity to heal, perform, and thrive. Through precision medicine, she also leverages advanced health data, including genetic insights, to help design personalized strategies for longevity, prevention, and optimal health.
Dr. Frugé brings a unique perspective to her work through her firsthand experience as an elite athlete. Before entering medicine, she was a tennis teaching professional and received an NCAA Division I tennis scholarship for her undergraduate education.
Known by many as “the athlete’s doctor,” Dr. Frugé has a special interest in movement, performance, and helping people stay active, strong, and capable throughout life. She enjoys working with patients of all backgrounds, ages, and fitness levels - from beginners who are just starting to build healthier routines to gym owners, fitness professionals, athletes, and highly active individuals looking to optimize performance.
Her approach is encouraging, practical, and personalized. Whether a patient is new to exercise, returning after time away, or already committed to an active lifestyle, Dr. Frugé helps design strategies that support their goals, abilities, and long-term health.
Dr. Frugé earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, where she was awarded an American Heart Association research grant.
